Royal Caribbean
Overview

Company Profile
Here is what the company has to say about itself from its web site:
Welcome to Royal Caribbean International, the cruise line that delivers the "Wow!" and the one that put rock-climbing walls and ice-skating rinks on cruise ships. Whether you've sailed with us before or have just seen our commercials on TV, you may have the sense that we're not your average cruise line.
With more than 120 destinations worldwide and an amazing array of exciting shore excursions and cruisetour options, we're reaching out to vacationers eager to try something new – whether it's glacier-trekking in Alaska, swimming with stingrays in the Caribbean or strolling the Champs Élysées in Paris.
As the "Get Out There" cruise vacation alternative, Royal Caribbean ships offer itineraries, activities and amenities designed to appeal to every taste, energy level and age group. Our guests seem to agree with our philosophy: Royal Caribbean's Crown & Anchor customer loyalty program recently enrolled its three millionth guest.
Since 2001, we've introduced seven ships to our fleet – the latest of which is Jewel of the Seas, the final addition to our Radiance class in 2004. And, we're pleased to announce the addition of three Freedom-class ships, the first of which, Freedom of the Seas, will make its debut in 2006. The second will begin sailing in 2007, and the third in 2008. These new ships will be roughly 15 percent larger than their Voyager-class counterparts. We're also in the midst of an aggressive program of ship revitalization, one that promises to help keep the cruising experience fresh for our repeat guests and equally exciting for our new ones.
But our ships, destinations and amenities aren't the only reasons why Royal Caribbean is a great cruise line. We're a great company because of our people, who deliver Gold Anchor service to our guests and travel partners every day. Not only that, but wherever we go, whatever we do, we take our values with us. We know that our acceptance in the communities we call home and the ports we visit depends on our living up to high standards of corporate citizenship. For that reason, Royal Caribbean invests in community organizations and initiatives to enhance the quality of life in communities all over the world. Our own G.I.V.E. Day, a community service event now in its seventh year, has become the largest corporate volunteer day organized by a Florida company.
Second only to our people is our commitment to the environment. Royal Caribbean International has implemented stringent environmental practices and procedures that help preserve the world's oceans. Our company also created the Ocean Fund, which supports marine conservation organizations in their efforts to preserve the ecosystems of the world's oceans. Since the fund began in 1996, we've awarded almost $6.5 million to 52 organizations involved in marine conservation research, education and innovative technologies.
Thank you for visiting our web site to learn more about Royal Caribbean International. We hope to see you onboard one of our ships soon. |
